This programme was developed to strengthen the leadership capability of academic leaders and teachers, recognising that every educator, whether in a formal position or in the classroom, leads and influences others. Participants explored what effective academic leadership looks like, including setting a clear vision for learning, inspiring colleagues and students, and creating a school culture where both teaching and learning can flourish.
Through interactive sessions, case discussions and reflective exercises, participants practised skills such as communicating expectations, giving constructive feedback, managing change and encouraging collaboration among teachers. They also considered how their own example shapes the school environment. Participants left with greater confidence in their leadership role, a shared vocabulary for discussing school improvement and practical strategies for guiding their colleagues and students towards higher standards and a stronger sense of community.
